SOCILEXIA: Journal of Social Sciences and Legal Studies is a peer-reviewed and open-access interdisciplinary academic journal published and managed by CV Punggawa Legacy Center. The journal was first published in June 2026, beginning with Volume 1, Number 1, 2026. SOCILEXIA is published in electronic/online format through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform.
SOCILEXIA provides an academic forum for research examining the relationship between society and law. The journal is particularly concerned with social phenomena that have clear legal, regulatory, institutional, rights-based, or justice-related dimensions, as well as legal phenomena whose operation and consequences require social-scientific analysis. Its interdisciplinary orientation brings together perspectives from sociology, criminology, political science, public policy, international relations, social psychology, cultural studies, and related social sciences with legal studies.
The journal publishes empirical, theoretical, comparative, normative, socio-legal, and interdisciplinary research addressing the interaction between law, society, institutions, governance, justice, rights, regulation, and social change. Contributions from the social sciences are considered where they demonstrate a substantive relationship with legal rules, legal institutions, legal processes, public regulation, rights, justice systems, or the social operation and consequences of law.
SOCILEXIA is published four times a year, in March, June, September, and December, and accepts manuscripts written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. All manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are subjected to a peer-review process before publication.
SOCILEXIA: Journal of Social Sciences and Legal Studies is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal dedicated to the publication and dissemination of research in the social sciences and legal studies. The journal was established as a scholarly forum for researchers, academics, practitioners, and other contributors interested in understanding contemporary social and legal issues through rigorous and relevant academic inquiry.
SOCILEXIA recognizes that social phenomena and legal developments can be examined from different disciplinary perspectives. The journal therefore welcomes studies that focus on social sciences, legal studies, or the intersection between the two fields. Articles may examine social behaviour, institutions, culture, crime, inequality, politics, governance, public policy, international affairs, legal systems, justice, rights, and other issues associated with changes in society and institutional life.
The journal accepts empirical, theoretical, normative, comparative, socio-legal, doctrinal, qualitative, quantitative, mixed-method, conceptual, and literature-based research. SOCILEXIA welcomes studies concerning Indonesia as well as research from regional, comparative, and international contexts. Interdisciplinary contributions are encouraged when the combination of perspectives provides a meaningful contribution to the understanding of a particular social or legal problem.
SOCILEXIA is published quarterly in March, June, September, and December. All published articles are made openly accessible to support wider academic exchange and the dissemination of knowledge in the social sciences and legal studies.
