SOCILEXIA provides an academic forum for research examining the relationship between society and law. The journal is particularly concerned with social phenomena that have clear legal, regulatory, institutional, rights-based, or justice-related dimensions, as well as legal phenomena whose operation and consequences require social-scientific analysis. Its interdisciplinary orientation brings together perspectives from sociology, criminology, political science, public policy, international relations, social psychology, cultural studies, and related social sciences with legal studies.

The journal publishes empirical, theoretical, comparative, normative, socio-legal, and interdisciplinary research addressing the interaction between law, society, institutions, governance, justice, rights, regulation, and social change.
